Fukrey Movie Review

Introduction

The movie, Fukrey, is star casted by Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Richa Chaddha, Priya Anand , Pankaj Tripathi and Vishaka Singh.  Varun Sharma has made his debut in the film industry through this movie. The direction to the film is given by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. In today’s bollywood cinema, romance has taken a back seat as bromance has taken its place. You can watch the history of bromance in Dil Chahta Hai, 3 idiots, Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, Kai Po Che and many such films and Fukrey is not much different.

As the magic of bromance works on the audience rather that the same old story of a boy and a girl getting hopelessly in love with each other, convincing each other’s parents and then getting married at the end, therefore, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani  has put their money in this film. Though, Fukrey did not match up to the level of earlier buddy films.

Story line
Fukrey is a joy ride which is plotted in Delhi and it will remind you of Delhi Belly. It is a youth comedy which revolves around the two best friends- Hunny, whose role is played by Pulkit Singh and Choocha whose role is played by the debutant Varun Sharma. They want to get their admission in the coolest college of the city but since they are not very bright students they make plan to make some jugaad, in order to get their way.
Then there is Laal, who is studying through correspondence and wishes to get an admission in the same college as his girlfriend and Zafar who wants to become a musician. These four guys bump into each other and become best of friends.

In order to fulfil their dreams, they approach a lady don, Bholi Punjaban , whose role is played by Richa Chadda who does all the illegal work to get money and she’s not even guilty about it. She invests in the plan of these four guys. But the things get messed up and the foursome gets into trouble and they further get bullied by this lady don.

Performance
The first half of the movie is slow in pace but there is comedy punches every now and then which can keep you entertained. Newbie Varun is a full surprise package and his perfect comedy timing, wacky characterisation and amusing expressions makes him stand out. The confidence of Pulkit is laudable. Manjot and Ali have done justice to their role. Richa Chadda has given an impressive performance.
Music and technical aspects

The movie has six tracks which are simple and sweet but high on entertainment and fun quota. It does not disappoint much, though it has some setbacks. There are various singers like Kailash Kher, Mika Singh, Ram Sampath, Rana Majumdar and many more. The lyrics are penned by Mrigdeep Sing Lamba, Vipul Vig and Munna Dhiman. The editing is done by Anand Subaya and Vipul Vig has written the dialogues.
Rating

The star rating of the film is 3.5 out of 5. The film deserves a watch and it won’t disappoint you.
