Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2013 Movie Review

Introduction
“Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” star-casted by Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur and directed by Ayan Mukerji is a biggest blockbuster release as of now when we are not even half the way through 2013. The film has been given 3 stars by the critics. The good thing about the film is that it is very mushy and has a flavour of realism in it. The film has a bored idea that could have gone in a wrong way but luckily that doesn’t happen.

Story
The story shifts between the past and the present. It is a tale of 4 friends Bunny, Naina, Avi and Aditi who take trip at Manali and after a long time come together once again at Aditi’s wedding. Now the story has changed and the film features about how each has grown individually in their life.

Script Analysis
Though there has been praises about the songs of the movie, it is also true that the story is imaginatively challenged. The script takes journey through the lives of four people but is importantly the story of Bunny. We misinterpret when we think that Bunny is finding himself. Instead he knows himself the best. The most exhilarating part is that he faces difficulty to arrange the priority of things in his life that matters to him the most.

Star performances
Ranbir Kapoor has slipped into the skin of the character effortlessly, hence giving an outstanding performance. He will make you believe that he is Bunny. Deepika Padukone is no exception to this. She has also given a heart melting performance transcending from nerd to a beauty. Aditya Roy Kapur is charming and Kalki Koechlin is impulsive. However, they do not show up much in the movie. Ranbir and Deepika bring the magic with their amazing on screen chemistry.

Direction, Music and Technical Aspects
Decadent music and wonderful frames along with heart taking performances makes the film worthwhile. The director truly believes in the story of the movie which makes the movie very captivating. Despite being more than two and a half hour film, there is not a slow moment and the cinematography is perfect. The natural beauty of Manali and architectural beauty of Udaipur is breath taking.

The Last Word
Though it has a flaw that the scenes keep on repeating as the narration flows, it is remarkably a well executed film. The director has made the film both honest and believable. It is a much watch film. It is one of the Bollywood’s memorable romantic comedies and the glistening chemistry of Deepika and Ranbir has set the fire on the celluloid. It is a delicious entertainer movie and works endearingly.
